End of the World – Is it the end of the Earth?

Many people around the world with different backgrounds, religious and non-religious, thought about the finale of our planet. Why? They saw many terrifying reasons to believe that our planet is in its most dangerous stage. Wars, even small wars are threatening us. Global warming and other climate changes made experts so anxious for our planet earth and for the entire humanity. Viral diseases brought millions and millions to grave not including the effect of pollution of our techno world that makes our planet more prone to abnormal global phenomenons. So it is very important to be concern for this very beautiful planet, the Earth.

Will the Earth be destroyed?
There are so many religions believe of the end of the world. Yes the bible said that the “end will come.” (Matthew 24:14) But when the bible said the end will come, is it pointing to the end of planet Earth? From the bible itself we can find the answer.
If we read Ecclesiastes 1:4, it states that “A generation is going, and a generation is coming, but the earth remains forever.” So it is clear that even thousands and thousands of generations will pass by, the Earth still remains, it will not end.
How can we be so sure of that? Let us remember the original purpose of God for our planet. In Isaiah 45:18 we read ,”For this is what the LORD says-he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabitedhe says: “I am the LORD, and there is no other.” So God formed the Earth with a purpose-to be inhabited by humans. Another important thing to be remember in the verse 18 it said: “he is God”. What will he do as our God, the one who formed the Earth? The answer is in Revelation Chapter 11, Verse 18, he will “bring to ruin those ruining the Earth.” Yes, it is a very good news that God himself will act for the sake of the wonderful work of his hands- the Earth! He will certainly put to end, not our planet, but those “ruining” or destroying it! So before humans, or before anything can destroy our planet, God will surely act.

God even promised, “For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity...The righteous will inherit the land and dwell in it for ever.” (Psalms 37:9-11,29; New International Version)

So by the evidence as the scriptures provided, is it the Earth will end or those ruining the Earth?

Yes, God will surely act in behalf our planet Earth, but before his appointed time another question is rising up, why does God allow us to suffer today?
That question will be the topic of one of next articles.
